The History of Let’s Network:

 

In March of 1995 Rick Berg, a smart guy with a passionate business sense, and Robin Masiewicz, who at the time had 8 years of Leads Networking experience and Group Dynamic Training, decided to create Let's Network. Their goal was to bring together businesses that wanted to serve one another to the best of their abilities by producing leads and referrals, and to make a difference in the overall community of Riverside and the Inland Empire. It was at that time that Rick and Robin developed the Let’s Network Mission Statement,  “As we help others… We help ourselves.”

 

Robin’s experiences with other networking groups had convinced her of the power of networking. However, she wanted a group that cared more about supporting and valuing one another rather than just the money that could be made from networking relationships. Robin also found membership in other networking groups to be expensive with dues always landing in some far away corporate office. And, then there was the problem of the assigned network representative visiting only once a month and giving minimal support to the local businesses. Knowing things could and should be better; Let's Network was born.

 

The first meeting was held at a Denny's Restaurant on Arlington Avenue in Riverside with business owners being invited by word of mouth. On that day, eight members joined and stayed on with the growing group for over five years.  When the small banquet room at Denny’s was over flowing, Let’s Network moved to Baker's Square near the Tyler Galleria filling the room with an average of 30 business owners each week.

 

At that time, the Let’s Network leadership created a “facilitator” position. The group voted for the facilitator, who would then fulfill a three-month term of leading the weekly meetings. This position also gave members a chance to take the reins and bring new ideas and energy to the group. 

Currently, Let’s Network meets at the Denny's Restaurant on Van Buren Boulevard in Riverside and is exploding at the seams once again with a waiting list of people ready to join! With every step of growth, and the placement of structures to the group, the primary goals of supporting and valuing one another and making a difference in our community remain the core of Let’s Network!
